Alain Peters - Rest' La Maloya LPAlain Peters

Rest’ La Maloya is the essential posthumous collection of Alain Péters, the cult singer-poet from Réunion Island whose work sits between maloya, Creole blues and psychedelic folk. Recorded between the late 1970s and 1980s and compiled by Les Disques Bongo Joe, the album gathers some of his most iconic songs, from “Caloubadia” to “Mangé Pou Le Coeur” and the haunting title track “Rest’ La Maloya”. With guitar, percussion and voice at the core, Péters’ music feels intimate, raw and timeless, a cornerstone of Indian Ocean music and a key reference for the entire maloya lineage.
